If you are tired, or simply being disgusted, of the things being displayed on store shelves and are being offered as gift items, especially during the various festive seasons, there is hope. Secondly, what if, in your opinion, you find the holiday ads on TV selling all the high tech gadgets unappealing? The simple solution is to consider something handmade and unique to give, according to award-winning artist and muralist, Virginia Ann Holt.
"So, if you don't want to give yet again another plasma TV, a Kindle reader or tablet, packet of socks, power drill, or a cologne set again this year, I would advise you consider giving a gift that is unique, such as an acrylic painting that is meticulously reproduced as Fine Art Giclées (pronounced Jee-clay)," says Virginia, who has returned to her native San Diego after decades of travel, study and working abroad and is successfully helping San Diegans all over the county to realize their artistic visions.
"Giving something like a brilliant acrylic painting that is meticulously reproduced as Fine Art Giclées, printed on either a smooth, heavy weight luster paper or on textured fine art paper, which is like watercolor paper, giving realistic depth to the print is a great way of saying," adds Virginia.
Giclée printing, considered to be the highest quality digital reproduction technique for fine art, uses an extremely high resolution, detailed scanning process to create a digitalized image and texture of the original artwork.
Giclée prints, which are created using specialized printers that literally spray the image onto the paper, is the passion of Virginia, who has returned to her native San Diego after decades of travel, study and working abroad and is successfully helping San Diegans all over the county to realize their artistic visions.
Long ago while working as an artist’s model Virginia was captivated by an exhibition of brilliantly colored wool skeins at the National Art School of Mexico. Since returning to the United States, Virginia has become a much sought-after painter, muralist and faux finisher. To this day she is still enthralled with color and its various applications.
One of her large colorful murals is on display at the Union Bank Building of California at University and 30th in the city of San Diego. And currently, her website provides a virtual display of her art works that have been reproduced in to beautiful Cards, Prints, Mugs, and Murals.
With her creative talent and skill garnered her numerous awards both here and in Mexico, Virginia currently makes her home in Del Mar, California with her daughter.
